Sajjad Hoseininia

Sajjad Hosseini-Nia Lakani, a 38-year-old Gilak citizen from Rasht, was killed on January 9, 2026, in the vicinity of Gas Square in Rasht, during nationwide protests. According to information received, Mr. Hosseini-Nia Lakani was directly targeted and shot in the back by a sniper from the forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran while attempting to rescue an injured girl; the bullet struck his heart. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
